Make Believe
It’s that time of year when it’s acceptable - even encouraged - to put on a costume and be someone else for a day. Make believe is still fun at any age. Especially in challenging times, it helps us escape realities and be light, even if it’s brief.
You can play a little make believe with your postcard writing:
Describe your Halloween costume: this year’s, or a favorite from the past. My personal favorite is my Three Amigos costume with my pals Sara and Erin. Good stories accompany that memory.
Write to a friend who likes games. Make a plan for getting lost in a world of real estate tycoons, mansion murder, or whatever video game the kids are playing these days.
Write as an alter ego. Write from your pet. Write something goofy. Be playful.
Write to your real-life superhero about how their superpowers have saved you.
Play is good for us, darlings. Grab a pen and get silly.
